The snow is already falling in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and the state's top ski resorts are offering a flurry of money-saving ski discounts.

The temperatures are dropping, snowflakes are falling, the snow guns are blasting, and New Hampshire ski resorts are gearing up for the 2009-2010 season. If you’re planning on skiing some of New Hampshire’s popular ski mountains or arranging a family ski vacation, check out some of these early season deals.

New Hampshire Anywhere Anytime Ski Ticket

If you plan on skiing or riding on weekends and holidays, this 12-ticket package is one of your best bets. It’ll save an average of 20 percent on adult weekend & holiday lift tickets.

Create your own package by choosing the mountains you want to ski across the state. You can choose from any or all tiers of mountains. Tickets are transferable so you can share them with family and friends and are valid any day, including weekends and holidays.

Prices are as follows: $60 per lift ticket for Attitash, Bretton Woods, and/or Loon Mountain; $52 per lift ticket for Cannon Mountain, Gunstock Mountain Resort, Mount Sunapee, Waterville Valley and/or Wildcat Mountain; $42 per lift ticket for Cranmore Mountain Resort, Crotched Mountain, Pats Peak, and/or Ragged Mountain Resort; $30 per lift ticket for Balsams Wilderness, Black Mountain, Dartmouth Skiway, Granite Gorge, and/or King Pine, and $25 per lift ticket for McIntyre Ski Area

Fourth Grade Earn Your Turns Program & Fifth Grade Snowsports Passport

Here’s a way for fourth grade students to earn a free lift ticket and trail pass to every one of the 36 Ski NH resorts. Fourth grade students can write an essay, draw a picture, build a model, conduct an interview, or finish some other project that highlights an aspect of the history of skiing in New Hampshire. The teacher reviews each project and, if it is satisfactory, submits the student's name to Ski NH. Ski NH then sends the qualified fourth grade student his or her Earn Your Turns passbook. The passbook also includes discounts on lift tickets and trail passes for parents and siblings, rental packages, lessons, and more.

The fifth grade Snowsports Passport provides skiing for fifth graders at all Ski NH member areas. There's a $20 processing fee, with $5 of that fee donated to the Make a

More Early Season Ski Deals at New Hampshire Resorts

Full-time college students can take advantage of the Higher Education Pass, offering unlimited slope access at Attitash, Crotched Mountain and Mount Snow (VT) for $295 before December 1, 2009.

Threedom Passes for Bretton Woods, Cranmore & Waterville Valley are on sale through November 30, 2009. Anytime Passes are valid any day of the 2009/10 season at all three areas; adult (age 19+) passes are $839, teen (age 13-18) passes are $499 & junior (age 6-12) passes are $449. Limited Passes are valid any day of the 2009/10 season at Cranmore & Waterville Valley, and any day except holiday blackout dates at Bretton Woods; adult (age 19+) passes are $739, teen (age 13-18) passes are $439 & junior (age 6-12) passes are $359.

New Hampshire resident adult passes to Cannon Mountain are on sale through December 14, 2009. Costs are $524 for adults, junior and senior passes are $299 and child passes are $246. Passes are valid any day of the season.

Prime Time Adult (age 18-64) passes at Gunstock Mountain Resort are on sale now through November 8, 2009. Costs are $479 for adults, Prime Time Teen (ages 13-17) passes are $389, and Prime Time child (age 6-12) and Prime Time senior (age 65+) passes are $259, and the Senior Plus (age 80+) pass is $25.

The NH College Breakout Pass is valid for skiing/riding any day of the 2009/10 season at Mount Sunapee, Gunstock & Wildcat; cost is $239 until December 24,, 2009.

New England Passes, valid at Loon, Sunday River (ME) and Sugarloaf (ME), are on sale now at the same prices as 2008/09 passes.

The College Pass is valid at Loon, Sunday River (ME) and Sugarloaf (ME) and offers unlimited skiing & riding every day of the 2009-10 winter season. Cost is $329 through November 30, 2009.

Go ahead New Hampshire skiers and riders: start tuning up your boards and checking the weather reports. But it also pays to plan ahead and to look into the plethora of early season packages and deals now being offered by top ski resorts across the state.
